Game Types

We will be focusing on Texas Hold'Em the biggest poker game in the world. There are some aspects of and types that you should know first before you delve into the game.

Poker Game Types:

• Cash/Ring Games:

Money that is used is directly yours. The value of the chips are the cost of money that you are using to play. Variations include Pot Limit (PL), Limit , and the more commonly No Limit (NL)

• Multi Table Tournys (MTTs):

These are tournaments where there are multiple tables going at the same time until one lone player has all the chips. There will be increasing blinds and antes. Variations include PL and more commonly NL.

• Sit n Gos (SnGs):

This is the same as MTTs but with a smaller player pool. It ranges from 18-180 players.

• Single Table Tournys (STTs):

Same as MTTs except with one single table with a prize pool for the top 3 finishers out of 9. First place is 50%, 2nd place is 30%, and third place receives 20%.

• Heads Up (HU):

2 players per game with winner takes all.
